About us

Iyanna Foundation is a girls and women’s development organization established to address challenges girls and women are facing in their communities, challenges that have life-altering effects on their personal, family, and community future. Challenges such as teen pregnancies, lack of meaningful economic prospects, limited mentorship and apprenticeship opportunities. The program is targeted at underprivileged girls and women in communities in the Arusha region and Tanzania.

Our approach

Iyanna Foundation is a registered non-Governmental organization registered in Tanzania under the Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children-Community Development. The organizations’ activities are targeted at women and girls irrespective of ability, race, tribe, religious affiliation.

The organization will be using different approaches such as community awareness, life, and social skills activities, counselling as a positive framework to mobilize and expose our target group essential skills that will help them to live a life of dignity, make the informed choice concerning their lives and become productive and women leaders in their respective communities.

Our Mission
To empower the youth in Tanzania to achieve their fill potential by providing them with necessary tools, resources, and opportunities to succed in all aspects of life.

The foundation’s approach creates pathways for youth to excel academically, professionally, and personally, especially focusing on underrepresented groups such as young girls and mothers, to ensure they have the support needed to reach their full potential.

These empowered individuals would be leaders and role models, driving positive change in their communities, creating solutions to local challenges, and inspiring others. The foundation works toward this vision by providing educational opportunities, mentorship, and health support to ensure young people can thrive and reach their full potential.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Empower young mothers and their children in Tanzania by providing a safe haven, counselling, and medical care. This approach fosters a supportive environment where they can build strong foundations for their futures.
Promote comprehensive reproductive health education and life skills development for all primary and secondary school students, regardless of gender. Targeted workshops and awareness campaigns will equip young people to make informed choices.
Ignite a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) subjects among young people, particularly by supporting girls through mentorship programs. We utilize chess as a unique tool to foster engagement and build a strong community spirit.
